Madagascar is home to some incredible minerals and we have been in awe of the quartz that we have seen from there.

This quartz crystal is amazing to look at – very clear quartz with awesome inclusions and fractures that impart an especially unique character to this crystal. The central area has a slight smokey tone. The inclusions are chlorite and iron colored clay. There are ‘negative cyrstals’ formed inside, rainbows and many shapes that are fascinating to view with a magnifier.

The original crystal had a rough exterior and it was difficult to evaluate the inner beauty so it has been cut and polished by Chris Gosso. The finishing is beautiful and displays an attention to detail completed by an incredible polish.
